Next General Meeting: March 2nd, 7PM
Jobs in the Computer Industry

Former TPC President Bill Auckerman will be back to moderate a panel discussion on IT work in Japan. Because so many people in IT are considering work alternatives, including their options in developing a venture business, working for an Internet start-up, or getting a better job, the plan is to have four interesting experts discuss their perspectives with our TPC members.

Panelists will include:

Bill Auckerman, writer, teacher at Asia University
Bill is a former Tokyo PC Users Group president and newsletter editor, former editor of Computing Japan, and writer for a number of publications, including Internet.com.
Tanya Clark, writer for several publications including J@pan, Inc.,
Tanya has been developing an ongoing series of articles for J@pan, Inc. over the past six months on the Internet and venture boom in Japan, and on VCs. She has been using computers for over 20 years, starting with programming punch cards and Basic using a Tandy 80. After going through using DOS and MACs, Tanya is back to using a PC now.
Mark Stoneman, independent executive consultant
Mark is a former manager of consultants at Access Technology, then went on to big venture business with Leo Keeley, and is now president of his own executive consulting firm.
Angelina Wang, Managing Director of Morgan and Banks, Japan
Morgan and Banks is a leading international executive search firm. It is also owned by the same parent company that owns Monster.com. The company is very committed to the Internet as a business infrastructure and is rapidly growing its operations in Japan as opportunities in IT and Internet business grow.

The meetings are held in the basement of The Tokyo Union Church on Omotesando Dori, a short walk from the A-1 exit of the Omotesando subway station on the Ginza, Hanzomon, and Chiyoda Lines. The entrance is through the parking area at the rear of the church.
